Back Panel Adapter and Custom Enclosure for Raspberry Pi 3, 4, or 5
Easily connect Raspberry Pi I/O cards to the Back Panel with this industrial-grade adapter that delivers 5V, 24V, I²C, and RS485 signals.
The Back Panel Adapter allows the Raspberry Pi to be mounted vertically in a custom enclosure on the Sequent Microsystems Back Panel. It rotates the 40-pin GPIO connector by 90° and routes all GPIO signals to the Back Panel connector. The adapter is compatible with any Raspberry Pi I/O card that relies solely on the I²C interface. Its primary purpose is to enable integration with the new Sequent Microsystems Back Panel–based industrial automation systems.

FAQ
Q: What exactly does the Back Panel Adapter do?
A: It mounts a Raspberry Pi vertically on the Sequent Microsystems Back Panel, routing all 40 GPIO pins to the Back Panel connector for seamless integration.
Q: Which Raspberry Pi models are supported?
A: The Back Panel Adapter is compatible with Raspberry Pi 3, 4, and 5 models.
Q: Is it compatible with Sequent I/O cards?
A: Yes, it works with all Sequent Microsystems I/O cards that rely solely on I²C for communication.
Q: How does the GPIO connector orientation change?
A: The adapter rotates the 40-pin GPIO connector by 90° for vertical mounting, routing every pin to the Back Panel.
Q: What hardware is included with the adapter?
A: The package includes a custom enclosure, a Back Panel mounting screw, and the adapter board.
Q: Can the adapter be installed in any slot?
A: It must be installed only in the designated Raspberry Pi slot on the Back Panel.
Q: Does it provide 5V power to the Raspberry Pi?
