I have a couple of the SMS display adapter cards for RasPi and am mating these with 2004A display cards. that are said by mfgr to be RasPi compatible. The SMS card has an 18 pin interface, but the 2004A cards only have holes for a 16 pin interface. Appears that the K2 and K3 pins are not used by these 2004A cards. Before breaking off the two "extra" pins on the 2004A side of the pin assembly supplied with the SMS kit, I wanted to confirm that this difference "makes sense". The mfgr states that their 2004A boards have white text on blue background - no mention of full RGB in the description. I am wondering if the two "extra" pins are used for the RG part of RGB? Looks from from comparing my displays to those on the Adafruit site that might be the case.
Related: the only full RGB cards that I've found are on Adafruit's site - and more costly and are out of stock. I've not found full RGB RasPi-compatible cards on Amazon - still looking. Can anyone suggest a source or a manufacturer / product that I should check out? I can use my current cards for development but would prefer to have the flexibility of full RGB.
