Thanks for the reply!
I still haven't tried getting a 5V external power supply yet.
I've been trying to get the full functionality of the 8 MOSFET board working by using laptop I wasn't having trouble with, and I've now noticed that sometimes even on that computer, it still fails to upload. Retrying immediately after a failure seems to be successful on the second attempt though.
BTW, any news on when there might be a version of 8 MOSFET library that works with the latest version of the board (i.e supporting PWM)?
I see.
The arduino library update is on my list, I will start working on it next week.
Thanks Alex. I think I've been working a porting the Raspberry Pi code over myself, but I've run into a few challenges that are probably much more with my knowledge than anything else.
I've finally gotten back to trying to debug this a bit more. I've been sharing some traces, etc. with the esptool maintainers.
They suggested that the problem may be caused by the lack of capacitor on the EN pin, which is apparently recommended. Here's the issue I've logged with them, and the response: https://github.com/espressif/esptool/issues/1126#issuecomment-3389097131
Any thoughts on how I could test this?
Hi Tom,
Sorry for the late reply.
As you can see from the card schematics, there is no capacitor on the EN pin, just a 15k pull-up resistor.
We did not experience your behaviour, so we can not tell if it helps or not, but you can try adding a capacitor between the EN pin and GND, which will not harm.
Alex.
Thanks Alex. I'll give it a try.
